Chateau Grand Traverse

Week 26: June 25 - July 1

Something to Love

Ah, OK. It's the day before Cherry Fest and my daughter knows it. She's pointing at this map and said "I see Cherry Fest!" We'll do that tomorrow, including our first time at the pancake breakfast then followed by rides, air show, rides. Something to do today is the nearby U-Pick. We literally went to nearby Third Coast Fruit/Wunsch Farms on Wilson Road after this and picked a boat load!

Something to Do

There is a lot of retail here and my recommendation of what to do is make sure to see it all. There are some very high-end wine coolers and Ravinia-packs toward the flight counter. Like Blustone, you are only allowed to have a flight at the counter and a glass on the patio, so do stay inside and browse if you go the flight route.

Love to see the support of WOMP, the local association that markets the region and provides resources to member wineries.

Good choices for the kids including their version of "dump snack."

This is not on the property, but nearby Third Coast Fruit. Today was their U-Pick opening day for the year!

Something to Hope For

This isn't specific to CTG but I am so overwhelmed by awe of and gratitude for this incredible region. This view encompasses gardens, vines, water, woods, hills, and a stunning hospitality space. We passed multiple bustling farmstands and lakefront groups readying watercraft and water lounge spaces for a long 4th of July holiday weekend. My daughter just finished a successful week at VBS at a very progressive and welcoming host church. I hope the promise of summer's first couple of weeks is a sign of what's to come.
